The Sony VAIO TT - Sony’s Answer to the Mini Laptop Boom?
Sony is still on the market with a mini-laptop VAIO grace, in fact, Sony has openly reluctant to produce and sell a netbook. Sony executives have said that the cheap laptop does not include concept with the "Sony Premium" corporate image. That means that I have seen Sony in some pretty rubbish electrics before, my TV, for example, so that they could be taken two ways: snobbery, or a joke.
But in recent years, Sony has come with some very real very up-market products that supportthis claim. Sony Bravia TV series is a market leader, they have against the power of Apple's iPod and iTunes, and continued in the gaming "Walkman heritage ', it expanded its PlayStation brand, instead of the best-selling PS2 with the PS3 with an amazing £ 425 RRP against Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. It's VAIO laptop line is very good.
But they have a total from the Netbook market? Technically speaking, yes. Search for "netbook" on Sony VAIO mini-site - noResults. Sony does not and will not be presented with the cheerful beep and picture by Asus when it brought out the Eee PC to be connected. But a VAIO laptop, which have small, light and portable: the Vaio TT.
The TT is an impressive product, and offers a 11.1-inch screen, up to 9 hours battery life and a weight of 1.3 kg, is a petite put it on par with the 8.9-inch HP 2133 Mini-Note and lighter version of the Asus Eee PC 1000th All of the TT models have astrong carbon-fiber chassis in a choice of two colors, 'intense noir "and" Gold Fever. "Sony has announced carbon fiber in racing cars and aircraft, the 200% stronger and 30% lighter than traditional materials used in the computer chassis. "
A byproduct of the larger screen is a larger keyboard, which is very close to (but not quite) comparable to that of a full-size notebooks. The buttons are large and easy to separate, indented with the center of each key slightlyfor better accuracy.
Sony comes with a TV background, the 11.1-screen with a lot of know-how. You see on the 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and 1366×768 resolution, is delightful. The ability to read, blu-ray discs (or disc) offers far more flexibility. You do not have to FAFF order to burn DVDs or downloading movies online - and the quality is such that the image quality is not jeopardized.
The great battery life - up to 9 hours - ideal for use while awayCompanies, more than enough for an entire workday. Sony has a multitude of power-saving and efficiency features such as the battery care function, which prevents wear of the batteries installed, automatically adjusting the LCD brightness to the environment you work in and use ultra-efficient Intel Centrino 2 technology.
Connectivity is certainly the heart of the TT, with embedded 3G everywair 'on several models with speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. A T-Mobile SIM –Card is integrated on a free trial version. Fortunately, you can remove it and your own SIM card, so you do not, a new contract bound.
Perhaps then, Sony has clearly in the mini-laptop market, but specifically marketed as if they do not have. Ah yes, the site proposes to "slim and sophisticated design" and how portable it is, but Sony is very reluctant to 'n' word to use. Maybe it's to be said for them, maybe not.
The difference between the VAIO TT, and atypical netbook like the Asus Eee PC or the Acer Aspire One is so deep. Are they in the same league? Price wise, not sure the VAIO TT is expected at around £ 1,200 for entry-level models retailing, compared with a more modest £ 200-300 for your daily mini-laptop. It is certainly just as portable and useful, but it Clearly, Sony's a different approach to the portability.
Asus pioneered the netbook from a fresh start, building a smallComputer processing tasks in a simple, fast Internet and make it affordable could handle. Sony's answer to reduce the size and weight to make it ultra-portable while maintaining the excellent performance. The result is a very high performance laptop that has the size and weight characteristics of a netbook - it is, if you will, the challenging mini-laptop.
